Rabat – After creating the Facebook group “Les Voyageuses,” which has nearly 120,000 members, the two young Moroccan globetrotters, Houda Chaloun and Nadia Stoti, will launch on December 15 the first online women’s magazine dedicated to travel: Mag Les Voyageuses.
Chaloun and Stoti are at the head of the digital communication agency “Les Voyageuses,” specialized in tourism marketing.
For more than three years, each one them has been travelling the whole world before their paths crossed in Morocco and gave birth to the first participatory women’s web magazine under the slogan, “Take off!”
The globetrotters seek to “inspire women to travel and discover the world, to experience new adventures, to meet new people, to leave their comfort zone to better rediscover themselves, to dream big and dare to realize their dreams.”
The magazine will allow not only the founders, who each hold a personal blog, but also other women to share their experiences, chronicles, feedback, recommendations, and travel plans, while adapting the content to the reality and to the socio-cultural challenges faced by women from the Maghreb.
According to Chaloun and Stoti, the web magazine is addressed to women of all ages and backgrounds as well as all types of travelers: solo, family, lovers, adventurers, shoppers, and more.
As the two founders point out, the Mag Les Voyageuses is “much more than an information site, it is a source of motivation and a catalyst for change: changing the way we travel by raising awareness of ethical and responsible tourism, changing vision of the unknown, and perception of ourselves.”
“Traveling is first and foremost a personal journey that arouses curiosity in the human being, in his primary relationship with the Other and with the nature. Travel has the power to break stereotypes, prejudices, taboos,” the globetrotters said.
Many activities ranging from weekends escape, cultural visits, surf lessons, excursions and karma yoga sessions are expected to take place, bringing together passionate travelers from Morocco and abroad.
The magazine will be mainly funded by targeted advertising related to tourism and travel in addition to personalized travel accessories that will be available for sale on the website.
According to the founders, the revenues will be used to finance the organization of meetings of the community members, or donated to social associations in Morocco.
