Rabat – Heavy rains fell across the province of Guelmim, a city in southern Morocco, often called Gateway to the Sahara, on Friday, have caused exceptional flooding in the city, and reportedly material damage, but no human casualties so far.
A video on YouTube shows a young man surfing the flooded street on a mattress before he fell down.
According to a source from the scene, the people of the Saharan city lived in a state of panic, fearing to live again the same scenario of the floods of 2014, which cut off the city from the rest of the world and claimed the lives of dozens of people.
