Rabat – The US Secret Service has intercepted “potential explosive devices” addressed to former President Barack Obama and Bill and Hillary Clinton.
The US Secret Service on Wednesday reported that they discovered the packages in routine mail screenings, addressed to former President Obama in Washington, DC, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Rochester, New York.
The press release added, “The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them.”
“We condemn the attempted violent attacks recently made against President Obama, President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, and other public figures,” said current White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.
The new reports come one day after an explosive device addressed to George Soros, a frequent contributor to the Democratic Party, was found at his home in New York.
Early reports by CNN anchors on Twitter are also stating the network’s New York office has been evacuated, and the New York police department’s bomb squad is at the scene.
