Rabat – Moroccan tennis player Adam Moundir has won the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Lebanon Futures Tournament. The tournament was held in the coastal Lebanese city of Jounieh. The final game took place on September 29.

Moundir, who was unranked in the tournament, faced the first seed and the tournament’s favorite Denolly Corentin, from France. The Moroccan player won with two sets to none.

On his way to the final, Moundir eliminated players from Belgium, France, Greece, and Lithuania.

The ITF Lebanon Futures Tournament is a yearly competition providing tennis players with an opportunity to improve their global ranking. The money prize of the event is $ 25,000.

Moundir, who was born in 1995, is a Swiss-Moroccan tennis player. After playing for Switzerland between 2013 and 2019, he decided to switch nationalities on the ITF and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) to represent Morocco, in June 2019.

Moundir played for Morocco’s national team at the 2019 Davis Cup, the premier international team event for tennis. He is the highest ranked Moroccan player, as of September 2019. He is ranked 539th worldwide.
