Agadir – Moroccan football player Abderrazak Hamdallah has officially joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Taawoun on a one-year contract ahead of the 2026-2027 season.
Al-Taawoun confirmed the signing on Saturday, securing Hamdallah’s spot following the expiration of his contract with Saudi club Al-Shabab.
The decision marks another chapter in Hamdallah’s career in Saudi Arabian football, where he has established himself as one of the league’s most prolific goalscorers.Â
Al-Taawoun is expected to rely on Hamdallah’s experience and attacking quality as the club prepares for a demanding campaign that includes the Saudi Pro League, the King’s Cup – officially known as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup – and the AFC Champions League Two.
The move comes after a dramatic end to Hamdallah with Al-Shabab. The Moroccan striker left the Riyadh-based club following reports of disciplinary issues during the closing stages of the 2025-2026 season.Â
Saudi media reported that he was suspended after a dressing-room dispute and an on-field disagreement with teammate Yannick Carrasco over a free-kick, with Al-Shabab extending the suspension until the end of the campaign.Â
Despite the off-field controversy, Hamdallah finished his time at the club with seven goals and two assists in 15 appearances across all competitions.Â
Hamdallah remains one of the most decorated foreign strikers in Saudi football. He has contributed to many clubs’ victories, including Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Shabab, ranking among the Saudi Pro League’s top scorers.Â
