The 22-year-old player got married in December 2018 and celebrated his wedding in his hometown, Casablanca.
Rabat – Moroccan international football player Hamza Mendyl announced his wife’s pregnancy on Wednesday, January 1.
Mendyl made the announcement on Instagram, posting a photo of himself embracing his wife with his hand on her baby bump.
“Life has offered us the most beautiful gift. I don’t have the words to describe all the love that we already have for [the baby]! I love you ,my wife! Happy new year 2020 everyone,” says the caption.
The 22-year-old player received messages of congratulations from a number of his teammates in the national squad, including Selim Amallah and Nassim Boujellab. The photo garnered around 48,000 likes.
The Moroccan player married Moroccan model Marwa Ouhaly, known as Marobeauty, in December 2018. The couple celebrated their wedding in Casablanca. Several Moroccan football players attended the wedding, including Ayoub El Kaabi, Amine Harit, and Yassine Bounou.
Born in October 1997 to an Ivorian father and a Moroccan mother, Mendyl spent his childhood in Casablanca and began his career with the youth of Wydad Casablanca. He then joined the Mohammed VI Academy before leaving for Europe and playing for French club Lille OSC and German club Schalke 04.
Mendyl currently plays for the French team Dijon FCO, on loan from Schalke 04.
A few months back, in October 2019, another young Atlas Lion announced his partner’s pregnancy. The 20-year-old Achraf Hakimi shared photos of himself and his girlfriend, Spanish actress Hiba Abouk, to make the announcement on Instagram.
“Yesterday I promised my lady that I would go out on the field with a clear objective: to score a goal to dedicate to our future baby. The joy and enthusiasm pushed me to score not one, but two. Thanks to Hiba Abouk for making me feel the best feeling that can exist, and for being my life partner and my best friend! I love you!” reads the caption written in Spanish.
