The award comes in recognition of the ambassador’s work in developing relations between Morocco and Azerbaijan.
Rabat – The Moroccan ambassador to Azerbaijan, Adil Embarch, has received the 2018-2019 Azerbaijan Best Awards in the Ambassador category.
The award ceremony took place on February 3 in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, in the presence of public figures from the political, economic, cultural, and media spheres.
The Azerbaijani government organizes the Azerbaijan Best Awards every two years, rewarding people who have contributed to the development of the transcontinental country, including education, medicine, business, culture, art, science, architecture, sport, the fashion industry, and media.
The ceremony organizers paid tribute to the Moroccan diplomat for his commitment to the development of relations between Morocco and Azerbaijan, according to a statement from the Moroccan Embassy in Baku.
Embarch thanked the members of the jury and the organizers for the honor. He also stressed that the award goes to all members of the Moroccan Embassy in Baku who work tirelessly to develop and diversify relations between the Moroccan and Azerbaijani peoples.
King Mohammed VI named Embarch as ambassador to Azerbaijan in November 2016. Before that, the Moroccan diplomat held several official titles.
Embarch’s diplomatic career started in September 2002, when he worked as an economic counselor at the Moroccan embassy in Washington, US, for five years.
The official then worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as head of the logistics department, and then head of northern, central, and oriental Europe.
Finally, before his mission to Azerbaijan, Embarch worked as a counselor at the Moroccan Embassy in France.
