The Portuguese football player will miss a match against Sweden scheduled for tomorrow.
Rabat – Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Portuguese Football Federation (FPH).
The COVID-19 infection will prevent Cristiano Ronaldo from participating in Portugal’s Nations League match against Sweden. The match will take place on Wednesday.
The key Juventus football player, according to the Portuguese federation, is doing well without symptoms. However, Ronaldo did go into isolation as a preventive measure.
FPH reported the infection on Tuesday but did not indicate the date of Cristiano Ronaldo’s COVID-19 test. Ronaldo played in two matches during the past week, against Spain and France.
Sky Sports reported that the rest of the Juventus team tested negative on Tuesday.
In addition to Cristiano Ronaldo, score of international football players have tested positive for COVID-19 recently, including Morocco’s Nabil Dirar.
Dirar missed a friendly match against Senegal last week and will miss Tuesday’s match against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Liverpool’s Sadio Mane and AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic also tested positive for COVID-19.
