Rabat – YouTube management decided on May 25 to remove Ensay, a song featuring Moroccan pop star Saad Lamjarred, from Egyptian actor and rapper Mohamed Ramadan’s channel.
A source acquainted with the matter spoke to Morocco World News on conditions of anonymity and said that YouTube’s management made the move after Ramadan refused to pay the amount of money he owes Lamjarred for the collaboration.
Through his refusal, Ramadan violated the contract terms agreed upon by the two parties.
The contract stipulates that Lamjared has a percentage profit of the views of the song, which was featured on Ramadan’s YouTube channel where it reached 318 million views.
According to the same source, “Lamjarrad’s management’s team attempted to reach an amicable solution to no avail.”
Ramadan did not respond to Lamjarred’s management request, leading to the Moroccan singer’s decision to take legal actions against the Egyptian singer.
Ensay is among the most renowned songs featuring Lamjarred, with the song reaching over 133 million views on his YouTube channel.

Lamjarred has produced several songs that have become household songs not only in Morocco, but also across the Arab world. Many of his songs have reached record-setting number of views on YouTube. His latest song is “Nadi Ya Allah,” which was released last month.
In April, Forbes Middle East ranked Lamjarred among the region’s biggest “Arab Music Stars” for the past year.
“Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred is the most followed on YouTube, with more than 12.4 million subscribers to his channel,” Forbes said.
In 2020, Lamjarred featured among the top 50 most-streamed Arab singers on music application Anghami; he was also among the 50 most-streamed artists in the Middle East and North Africa on Deezer, another popular music streaming application.
“Addi El Kalam” was the fourth most-streamed Arabic song on Anghami in 2020, according to Forbes.
