Rabat – As part of Morocco’s campaign to welcome back for summer Moroccans residing abroad MREs), as well as its efforts to mobilize domestic tourism, the National Federation of the Hotel Industry (FNIH) has extended its discount offer for hotel stays to all Moroccans, not just MREs returning home.
“Following our first press release relating to the offer intended for our fellow citizens living abroad, we have agreed with the members of our federation to extend this offer to all Moroccans residing in the country,” FNIH said in a press statement.
The offer will see a 30% reduction on “prices displayed on commercial platforms” for hotels and other commercial accommodations. Furthermore, children under 12 years old will be granted free admission in their parents’ room. According to the press statement, the offer is valid until September 30.
The federation notes that any reservations must be made directly with the appropriate establishments, whether online or through other authorized platforms.

As part of Operation Marhaba, Morocco’s annual efforts to welcome home MREs for the summer holidays, June 17 saw the return of the first batch of 800 travelers coming home via ferry service from Sete, France.
The ferry was the first Sete-Tanger Med crossing of this year’s Marhaba initiative.
Moroccan authorities expect as many as 3 million MREs to return to Morocco this summer.
Last week, ahead of the official launch of Operation Marhaba, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI ordered the government and Moroccan transportation companies to ensure a seamless return for MREs.
The King notably ordered transportation companies to charge affordable prices for both flight and ferry tickets.
Most segments of Morocco’s private and governmental enterprise are contributing to this unprecedented national mobilization.
Royal Air Maroc, who have offered record-low prices for its flights, the various ferry companies leaving from France and Italy, and the National Office of Railways (ONCF) have all taken measures to implement King Mohammed VI’s instructions regarding this year’s Operation Merhaba.
Earlier this week, ONCF launched a special Marhaba plan by proposing“enhanced train offers and a special welcome rate.”
