Rabat – In the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health has recorded 1,910 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total figure of Morocco’s confirmed cases to 569,668.
The ministry also announced 2,104 new recoveries from COVID-19 and 19 coronavirus-related deaths.
The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Morocco currently stands at 540,474.
The fatality rate remains at 1.7%, while the recovery rate slightly declined to 94.9 % compared to 95 % registered in recent weeks.
Morocco now counts 19,658 active COVID-19 cases, including 559 in severe or critical condition.
With regards to the kingdom’s vaccination campaign, Morocco’s Health Ministry has fully vaccinated 9,787,143.
Approximately 11,699,533 people received the first dose as of July 23.
The campaign is targeting 33 million people, which would account for nearly 80% of the population.
Morocco’s government continues to urge citizens to vaccinate against the pandemic. Morocco’s Ministry of Health also urged citizens to comply with all preventive measures to limit the pandemic, including wearing of masks in public and social distancing.
Morocco decided to tighten lockdown measures following the surge in COVID-19 cases.
Starting today, Morocco will ensure that people respect the night curfew that starts at 11 p.m. and ends at 4:30 a.m.
Weddings and gatherings are also banned.
