Rabat – Samsung Morocco announced plans to launch the second phase of its “Samsung Innovation Campus” project in Morocco, as part of its “Enabling People” initiative.
The second phase will target nine Moroccan regions this year, including the southern Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region, marking an expansion from last year’s program, which covered three regions.
The program will see the establishment of training centers in each of the nine regions. The centers will be equipped with computers, televisions, and other tools for digital learning.
Samsung hopes to train 180 teachers, and more than 20 thousand students across the country to be able to program in Ruffle, APS, Python, and C, allowing for better results in digital or hybrid learning.
Additionally, the program hopes that teachers will pass on their knowledge to their students after attending the program.
“Each teacher must present a project with their students using the skills they learned at the program,” Samsung explained, “this year’s evaluations will be based not only on attending the courses, but also on the final score that’s assigned to this project.”
The program comes as part of the strategic partnership between Samsung Morocco and the Ministry of Education in Morocco, a partnership that the ministry hopes will strengthen its “Genie” program, that aims to integrate digital tools more closely with the educational system of Morocco.
The previous phase of Samsung’s Innovation Campus was launched in 2019 across three Moroccan regions: Fes-Meknes, Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and Beni Mellal-Khenifra.
A successful first phase ended in 2020 with 60 teachers trained and certified with successful results.
