Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of Health announced today, August 13, that 112 died due to COVID-19 in Morocco in 24 hours.
The latest figures update made Morocco’s death toll jump to 10,823 as of August 13.
The ministry also reported 10,752 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 741,836.
Active COVID-19 cases reached 81,584.
In the past 24 hours, Morocco recorded 9,895 recoveries.
The total of recovered people stands at 649,429 as of August 13.
The number of patients in critical condition is estimated at 1,967.
The Casablanca-Settat region maintains the leading position in terms of the number of cases recorded daily.
The region recorded 3,417 cases and 22 deaths. Rabat-Sale-Kenitra follows by 1,266 cases and 10 deaths, Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima (1,054 cases, 8 deaths), and Souss Massa (982 cases and 12 deaths)
The fatality rate stands at 1.5% while the recovery rate reached 87.5%.
Over 16,192,313 people received the first dose of the vaccine.
A total of 11,368,958 people are fully vaccinated. Morocco launched the vaccination campaign in January, aiming to reach herd immunity amid a surge of cases and the emergence of new virus strains .
