Denver – Morocco’s national football team continues to gather strength, with a recent announcement that midfielder Imran Louza will be joining the team in upcoming competitions.
Louza, who is French-Moroccan, was signed to Watford FC earlier this year, after showcasing his talents as a youth for both France and Morocco. His transition back to Morocco comes after several petitions from Morocco’s national football coach Vahid Halilhodzic. Louza previously played for Morocco’s U20 football team in a friendly match against France. During the match, the Watford midfielder scored a goal that helped Morocco defeat France 3-2.
Following that youth game, Louza chose to represent France in international competitions. At club level, the midfielder played for French club Nantes FC, before being signed by the Watford Hornets in the English Premier League. His deal with the Hornets was reported to be worth nearly $12 million.
Louza will join Morocco’s national team alongside recent additions Adam Masina, a fellow player from Watford FC, and Munir El Haddadi, a forward from Sevilla FC.
Morocco’s upcoming schedule will have the team face off against Sudan for the first round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on September 1st, followed by matches against Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
