Morocco’s Health Ministry announced 79 new COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours.
With the new fatalities, the death toll jumped to 13,224.
The ministry also reported 3,524new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total infections to 889,532 as of Tuesday.
The number of recoveries jumped to 834,543 as 6,395 people recovered in the past 24 hours.
The active cases, meanwhile, reached 41,765.
In the past 24 hours, Morocco registered 30,326 new COVID-19 tests out of the 8,321,577 tests carried out since the outbreak of the pandemic in Morocco in March 2020.
The fatality rate stands at 1.5%, while the recovery is 93.8%.
Casablanca-Settat recorded 1,541 new infections cases and 16 deaths in the past 24 hours, followed by Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (634 cases, 17 deaths), Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima (357 cases, six deaths), and Fez-Meknes (200 cases, four deaths).
Beni Mellal-Khenifra reported 193 cases and eight deaths, followed by L’Oriental (157 cases, nine deaths), Marrakech-Safi (147 cases, seven deaths), Souss-massa (80 cases, eight deaths), Draa-Tafilalet (66 cases, two deaths), Dakhla Oued Eddahab (62 cases), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (53 cases), and Guelmim-Oued Noun (34 cases, two deaths).
With regards to the vaccination campaign, Morocco has fully vaccinated 15,992,481 people, while 19,529,591 have received a first dose of the vaccine.
Morocco seeks to vaccinate 33 million people or 80 % of the population to achieve herd immunity against the virus.
