Rabat – As Morocco’s epidemiological situation appears to be improving, local health authorities have registered 7,057 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
The administration of the first and second doses of the vaccine against COVID continues.
150,993 people received their second dose of the vaccine today, September 1. This brings the total number of fully vaccinated individuals to 15,020,548, while 18,701,155 have been administered their first dose.
The country detected 7,057 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 866,968 cases, with 53,555 active cases.
Authorities performed 39,699 new tests in the past 24 hours, and the national positivity rate remains 13.85%.
Regionally, Casablanca-Settat remains Morocco’s worst hit region. 1,931 of the infected individuals detected over the last 24 hours are resident in the Casablanca-Settat region.
Health authorities reported 100 new deaths nationwide, bringing the total to 12,749 deaths, and the fatality rate remains stable at 1.5%.
5,813 recoveries were announced, for a total of 793,607 recovered patients and a remission rate of 92.4%.
The number of severe or critical cases decreased to 2,362. The occupancy rate of the resuscitation beds dedicated to Covid 19 is now at 45.8%.
311 new severe or critical cases were admitted in the last 24 hours, with 58 being admitted under intubation and 1,136 under non-invasive ventilation.
