Rabat – Morocco’s Interministerial Committee for the coordination and monitoring of international travel during the COVID-19 pandemic has updated the conditions of access for individuals coming from List B countries, taking into account the recent evolution of the epidemiological situation in Morocco.

Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK have been added to Morocco’s List B countries. Travelers from List B countries must be fully vaccinated, and present a valid vaccine pass and a negative PCR test completed within 48 hours.

The committee indicated that the updated lists and access requirements are available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official website.

Regarding the temporary suspension of direct flights to and from List B countries, the committee said the flight suspensions do not restrict access to Morocco’s territories.

Trravelers from List B countries can still enter Morocco by “transiting through other countries and complying with the conditions of access set by Moroccan authorities.”

“Countries affected by the suspension of direct flights will be able to organize repatriation flights,” the Committee stresses.

Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced on October 20 that the country would suspend flights from and to the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands due to the rise in COVID-19 cases across Europe.

Moroccan authorities have yet to mention when flights will be reinstated.

On Monday, Morocco’s Health Ministry stressed “the need to avoid possible a relapse of serious and critical cases and COVID-19-related deaths, which have occurred in several European countries.”

This week, the UK recorded the largest number of COVID-19 related deaths in Europe, which amounted to 223 deaths.

RAM clarified in another tweet that passengers who already booked their flights to the aforementioned countries will get “unlimited changes of ticket date and destination, free of charge until December 12.’

Meanwhile, direct flights between Canada and Morocco will resume next week, starting October 29, after being suspended for two months.

Other airlines such as Easyjet, Ryanair, British Airways and Tui have also cancelled flights between Morocco and the UK.

The classification of countries according to lists A and B, and the travel requirements for entering Morocco are established based on reliable data from the health departments of the other countries and International Organizations.

The Committee added that the classification of countries according to lists A and B, and the COVID-19 restriction measures, including the suspension of direct flights, would continue to be evaluated every 15 days.
