Rabat – More than a week after the tragic murder of Moroccan Abdeslam Ahogan, the culprits haven’t been brought to justice yet.
His grieving widow spoke to the local press, saying: “I don’t want for my husband’s death to be in vain, I want for his death to be the end of these kinds of crimes.”
The murder of the 39-year-old occurred after 10:30 p.m in a highly trafficked area called Souk – Arab name for market – in the Príncipe neighborhood in Ceuta.
According to primary police reports, the young man was shot in his place of work, a restaurant, by three or four hooded individuals. The police report indicates that the victim was shot in the head.
Eyewitnesses reported to the police that the perpetrators then fled the crime scene, heading for the neighboring Arcos Quebrados area.

Upon receiving the news, police forces dispatched patrols of the National Police as well as the Civil Guard to lock down and sweep the area in search of the fugitives.
The victim was transferred to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. No information is yet available on whether he arrived there dead or died at the hospital from a severe gunshot wound.
While the Ceuta police scrutinize the murder scene for more clues that can unveil some of the ambiguity surrounding the murder, residents of the Muslim-majority neighborhood of Príncipe were left traumatized in the wake of the tragedy.
Police opened an investigation into the murder of Abdeslam Ahogan on the same night the Moroccan was killed, but the motives of the crime remain unclear as police vow to further investigate the case.
The news of the killing of the late husband and father of three came as a shock to the neighborhood where he is loved and grieved.
