Rabat – Moroccan national carrier Royal Air Maroc has updated public information on the government’s requirements for travel to Morocco from A and B listed countries. The government lists countries as category “A” or “B” dependent on the COVID-19 situation in the respective countries.

Royal Air Maroc said that passengers coming from List A countries will be asked to provide proof of vaccination, as well as providing a health form as a requirement for travel.

The form should include the passengers’ address and two phone numbers allowing them to be contacted if necessary during the 10 days following their arrival to Morocco. Proof of vaccination is only valid at least two weeks after receiving the final dose.

Passengers can download the form online before boarding, or receive a printed version of the form on board the aircraft.

Passengers from List B countries are accepted on board of flights to Morocco by providing proof of vaccination, a negative PCR test and  filling in a health form, which includes two phone numbers and the passenger’s address.

The passengers should also provide a certificate attesting that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least two weeks after the administration of the second dose or the one-dose vaccine.

Passengers from list B need to offer a negative PCR certificate taken withi  48 hours prior to  boarding.

“Children under the age of 6 years old are exempted from the PCR test, regardless of which country they come from,” Royal Air Maroc said.

Royal Air Maroc’s announcement is part of the country’s campaign  fighting against the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The measure comes as part of precautions taken amid new waves of the virus outbreaks in Europe.

The Moroccan government announced earlier this week its decision to strengthen its border control system as part of its preventive measures.

Health professionals in Morocco warned that speeding up the vaccination campaign is the only way out from the health crisis.
