Morocco’s Weather Office Forecasts Strong Showers, Snowfall in Several Provinces

The General Directorate of Meteorology (DMN) forecasts strong stormy showers, snowfall and strong gusts of wind today, November 19.

Morocco’s Weather Office Forecasts Strong Showers, Snowfall in Several Provinces

Rabat – The General Directorate of Meteorology (DMN) forecasts strong stormy showers, snowfall and strong gusts of wind today, November 19.

The weather office expects rainfall ranging between 30-50 millimeters that will continue until 3 p.m. today. The rainfalls will concern the provinces of Assa-Zag, Es-semara, and Guelmim.

Showers between 20-40 millimeters from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday are expected in the provinces of Taroudant, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Errachidia, and Tata.

Meanwhile, snowfall is expected to affect the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Midelt, Ouarzazate, Taroudant and Tinghir today.

In addition to snow and showers, strong gusts of wind ranging between 75/90 kilometers per hour are are expected Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. in several provinces including Guercif, Taourirte, Oujda-Angad, Tanger-Asilah, Fahs-Anjra, Taza, Midelt, Boulemane, and Sefrou.

The weather alert from the DMN is the second of its kind this week. Earlier this week, the weather office published a statement to announce rainfall in several provinces, particularly southern Morocco.
