Rabat – The International School Database released data revealing that Casablanca is the second cheapest city in Africa for international education, with a median price of $4,735 (MAD 43,585) per year.
The data is part of a study called “The cost of international education in Africa in 2021.”
The study, which listed Africa as the cheapest region in the world in terms of international schooling in 2021, also revealed that the Kenyan city Nairobi is the most expensive across the African continent.
Schooling prices in the Kenyan capital range from just over $5,000 (MAD 46,024) per year to just under $15,000 (MAD 138,073).
The International School Database uses data to evaluate the prices of international schools, providing lists including in-detail information about schools across the globe.

Casablanca has fallen from the most expensive city last year to the second cheapest this year, due to a significant drop in the median price.
This year, the yearly international schooling fees in Casablanca range from $1,805 (MAD 16,614) to $13,489 (MAD 124,165).
The South African cities of Cape Town and Johannesburg also offer some of the most affordable prices in Africa for international school fees, the study revealed.
Morocco is home to many international schools offering education programs from various countries, such as the Rabat American School, Colegio Español in Rabat, the British International School of Casablanca, and Lyautey High School in Casablanca.
In August 2022, Morocco will welcome the opening of a new international school, “Dar Essalam American School,” which combines two of the best education systems recognized in the world — the Finnish system and the American curriculum.
