On December 23 Morocco’s football head coach Vahid Halilhodzic revealed the list of football players participating in the upcoming African Cup of Nations (CAN) scheduled from January 9 to February 6, 2022.

Fez – On December 23 Morocco’s football head coach Vahid Halilhodzic revealed the list of football players participating in the upcoming African Cup of Nations (CAN) scheduled from January 9 to February 6, 2022.

Halilhodzic announced the list at the Mohammed VI soccer complex in Maâmora, during a press conference.

Morocco’s list includes international football stars, including PSG’s right-back Achraf Hakimi, FC Barcelona’s Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, Fiorentina’s Soufiane Amrabat, and FC Seville’s Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Bosnian coach has not called Hakim Ziyech and Noussair Mazraoui to join the squad for the CAN 2021.

Atlas Lions will face Ghana, Gabon, and Comoros in the group stage of the tournament in Cameroon.

Munir Mohand Mohamedi (Hatayspor);

Anas Zniti (Raja de Casablanca).

Defenders: 

Soufiane Chakla (OH Louvain);

Samy Mmaee (Ferencvárosi TC);

Achraf Hakimi (PSG);

Souffian El Karouani (NEC Nijmegen);

Adam Massina (Watford);

Sofiane Alakouch (FC Metz);

Soufiane Amrabat (Fiorentina);

Aymane Barkok (Frankfort);

Ilias Chair (Quenns Park Rangers);

Azzedine Ounahi (Angers SCO);

Soufiane Boufal (Angers SCO);

Munir Haddadi (FC Seville);

Youssef En-Nesyri (FC Seville);

Ryan Mmaee (Ferencvárosi TC);

Ayoub El Kaabi (Hatayspor);

Zakaria Boukhlal (AZ Alkmaar);

Abdessamad Ezzalzouli (FC Barcelone).

Morocco’s Atlas Lions have shown impressive play in recent FIFA 2022 Qatar qualifiers, making the national team rank 2nd in Africa, according to the latest FIFA ranking.
