Rabat – Moroccan French football player Kevin Malcuit was spotted distributing pizzas and hot drinks to homeless people on December 7 in Piazza Garibaldi, Italy.

A passerby-fan who recognized Napoli’s French defender recorded the scene, according to the Italian news outlet Eurosport.

The 30-year-old stopped at the corner of Piazza Garibaldi and Corso Novara and donated pizzas and hot drinks with the help of a friend, receiving the applause of the whole city that discovered the kind act thanks to the video that was shared online.

As the video went viral, Malcuit was showered with praise on social media by the club’s fans.

In 2019, Morocco’s football federation invited Kevin Malcuit to play with the Atlas Lions during two friendly games against Libya and Gabon. The footballer, however, was reported to have refused the invitation.

The same scenario happened in 2016 when the federation asked him to join Morocco’s national team. Malcuit never responded to the invitation.

This isn’t the first time that Napoli football club players show acts of solidarity and kindness towards local vulnerable communities.

In 2018, Napoli’s Belgian player Dries Mertens alongside his friends, delivered pizzas to homeless people.

During Christmas in 2019, Napoli player Kalidou Koulibaly gave 500 euros to a beggar who was asking for a few pennies outside a supermarket.

Last year, the Senegalese defender was seen at a traffic light in Agnano, Italy, giving jackets to some compatriots during the cold winter of January.

During the lockdown, the Algerian full-back Faouzi Ghoulam brought shopping packages to North African citizens in Piazza Garibaldi, and then gave a series of technological devices to less fortunate people.
