Rabat – The director of Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, commented on King Mohammed VI’s recent message to the President of the United Nations Committee, stressing its importance in highlighting the agency’s valuable political and diplomatic roles in Palestine.

Speaking during the M24 morning show on the channel of Morocco’s state-owned news agency, Cherkaoui underlined the value of the Agency’s work on the Palestinian question and its relevance in terms of Moroccan diplomacy.

“Palestinians need a voice at the United Nations, the Security Council and the European Union, as well as political support and active solidarity through actions on the territory,” he explained.

The Agency’s director also highlighted the Moroccan presence in Al-Quds and Palestine for over 1,000 years as evidenced by the writings of historians.

“This solidarity, which is not situational or dictated by specific circumstances, remains continuous and constant,” he affirmed.

“This strong presence is embodied in the various royal initiatives to find a solution to the Palestinian question and to encourage the parties to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible,” Cherkaoui continued.

He then explained that the action carried out by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency is based on instructions from “His Majesty the King in terms of human development.”

The Agency has launched development projects by investing in collective intelligence while preserving the historical character of the “Holy City” of Jerusalem.

Earlier this week, King Mohammed VI showed his engagement in support of the Palestinian cause, calling for the restoration of dialogue and mutual trust between Palestine and Israel.

The Moroccan monarch also reassured the Palestinian National Authorities of his full support for their efforts to realize the aspirations of the Palestinian people for freedom and indepdence.
