The authorities’ communique explained that this recommendation comes as part of the measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been seeing a new spike recently thanks in part to the new Omicron variant.
The statement also insists on the need for residents to obey all measures designed to curb the spread of the virus, including the acquisition of a vaccine pass to access workplace locations.
Morocco recorded more than 2,000 cases yesterday, marking a sharp increase in cases recently. 140 of those cases are in critical condition, as per data from the health ministry.
Five deaths were also recorded, bringing to 14,849 the country’s total death toll since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
