Rabat – Canadian precious metal exploration company Stellar AfricaGold announced the discovery of a third gold structure during its exploration operation in Morocco’s Tichka Est region, located in a mountain pass 80 kilometers south-east of Marrakech.
The new reserve comprises over a one-kilometer deep gold structure, according to a Stellar AfricaGold press release.
Dubbed “Tichka Est Gold Project,” the mining venture now extends to four trenching programs in the Tichka Est region.
The new reservoir, located in Zone C of the project, adds 1,000 strike meters of gold to the previous 1,200 strike meters the company had unearthed in Zone A and B. The structure remains open for exploration to quantify its exact dimension, according to the company’s statement.
Speaking after the discovery of the new structure, Stellar’s V-P Exploration and COO, Maurice Giroux, declared: “I am delighted to see that the potential of the Tichka Project is blossoming with the discovery of another new structure within the Tichka Est permits.”
Giroux detailed the company’s plan moving forwards: “This important new structure remains open to the East and at depth. Stellar has a permanent geological team in Morocco and exploration of Zone C is ongoing. Results will be released as assays are received and analyzed.”
The Tichka Est Gold Project comprises seven permits in the High Atlas Mountain region, covering an area of 82 square kilometers.
Stellar had launched a sampling program in 2021, discovering two gold structures in Zone A and Zone B.
n January, the company announced acquiring three new permits to extend its exploration in the region, bringing the number of Stellar’s permits in the region to seven.
