Rabat – The Moroccan national taekwondo team traveled to the Bulgarian capital Sofia on Thursday, March 3, to participate in the Ramus Sofia Open International tournament.
The International taekwondo tournament will take place between March 3 and 8 in Sofia.
The participation of the Moroccan national team is a valuable opportunity that comes in the light of its search for competitions to improve the global ranking of its champions.
The Rasmus Sofia Open tournament serves the national team as preparation for various upcoming international sporting events, such as the World Championships, the Mediterranean Games, and the Islamic Solidarity Games.
More than 950 participants from all over the world will participate in Ramus Sofia Open 2022.
The Moroccan delegation consists of technical director Bahi Lahssain, coaches Badre Ismaili, Amine Rkiza, and Ali Messnaoui, and team doctor Nabil Boujida.
The male category of the Moroccan national Taekwondo team consists of Hamza Hecham (-54 kilograms), Omar Lakhal (-58 kilograms), Wsasfi Abdelbasset (-63 kilograms), Faycal Saidi (-68 kilograms), Khalid Daoudi (-74 kilograms), Youssef Baatriss (-80 kilograms), and Soufiane Assbi (87 kilograms).
The women’s team includes Nezha Assal (-46 kilograms ), Sakina Saheb (-49 kilograms), Oumaima Bouchti (-53 kilograms), Houda Heddadi (-57 kilograms), Meryem Khoulal and Safia Saleh (-62 kilograms), Ouafae Attri (-67 kilograms), and Sabah Ketbi (+73 kilograms).
Ramsus Sofia Open is classified in the G2 category and approved by the World Taekwondo International Federation.
