Rabat – Spanish airline Binter has scheduled two flights per week between Marrakech and the Portuguese Island of Madeira in the summer 2022 season.
The new flights – a result of the cooperation between Binter and the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) – will help improve connectivity to the region.
The airline will operate bi-weekly, from July 3 through to September 25, 2022, with flights on Thursdays and Sundays.
The plane will depart Marrakech-Menara airport at 5:35 pm and arrive in Funchal, Madeira at 8 pm, while flights from Madeira will leave at 9:20 am to land in Morocco at 11:15 am.
According to a press release from Binter, an ATR 72 aircraft with a capacity for 72 passengers will provide the connections.
Binter will offer customers the comfort of its modern aircraft as well as high-quality onboard service, added the release.
New flights connecting Morocco and Canary Islands
In addition, the Spanish airline will add an additional flight on each route between Morocco and the Canary Islands, particularly from Marrakech and Agadir.
In addition to the two existing flights between Agadir and Gran Canaria, Binter’s summer program includes an additional flight connecting the two cities.
The new link will take place on Thursdays departing from Agadir-Al Massira airport at 12:50 pm and from Gran Canaria airport at 10:30 am.
Between July 5 and September 13, Binter will launch a third weekly connection between Marrakech and Gran Canaria on Thursdays and Sundays, departing from Marrakech-Menara airport at 1:15 pm and from Gran Canaria at 10:30 am.
In addition, a direct flight from Marrakech to Tenerife will start each Saturday between July 23 and September 10.
The new routes Binter is offering indicate a bounce back in business travel and a busy 2022 summer season.
Following the reopening of Moroccan airspace, the new flights to and from Morocco are expected to help revive Moroccan tourism.
