Belgian low-cost carrier TUI Fly is planning to serve seven destinations in Morocco, via Lille-Lesquin Airport this summer, reports Aviation24.be.
Regarding Morocco, TUI Fly plans to operate two weekly flights every Wednesday and Saturday to Agadir and Marrakech, as well as three weekly flights to Casablanca every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from Lille-Lesquin Airport in northern France.
Starting April 5, three weekly flights will connect Oujda to Lille on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The company will also offer three weekly flights linking Nador to Lille starting April 6.
TUIfly will offer two weekly flights every Tuesday and Friday to Fez and Tangier from Lille, starting April 8.
TUIfly, the Belgian airline that had to cut its service due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, has resumed operations and now plans to cover many more locations besides Morocco. The airline will also serve several other cities in Greece, Spain and Portugal from the same airport.
The Belgian low-cost airline will operate all these flights using Boeing 737-800s, with 189 seats, from April 2 until the end of the summer season, when it will deploy 148-seater 737-700s, from April 29 onwards.
Aviation24 said that “since the beginning of the year, travelers have once again been confident about their vacation plans and the many reservations made for the summer season are promising.”
Several international airlines have resumed their flights to and from Morocco.
The situation would be lucrative for Morocco’s tourism sector, which reopened borders on February 7 after almost three months of closure. Tourism operators are hopeful for a revival of the sector, which was hit worst by border closures.
Morocco’s tourism sector is expected to perform better in 2022 after two difficult years as the country’s economy recovers from the pandemic, according to a report released in March by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
