Rabat – Jordan has reiterated its unwavering support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its territory.
The President of the Jordanian Senate, Faisal Akif Al-Fayez, reaffirmed his country’s support for Morocco’s territorial integrity in a press briefing on March 7.
“The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan absolutely and permanently supports the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its entire territory,” Al-Fayez declared, following talks with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita.
The Jordanian official lauded decades-long ties between Morocco and Jordan and the cordial relations between King Mohammed VI and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, expressing his country’s readiness to boost bilateral relations further in different fields.
Discussing several issues during his talks with Minister Bourita, Al Fayez expressed ambition for Jordan to benefit from Morocco’s experience in vocational training, agriculture, and water.
Al Fayez also emphasized his country’s eagerness to advance economic and trade relations with Morocco.
Jordan also views Morocco as “a gateway for Jordan to Africa due to its notable relations with countries of the African continent,” the president added.
Speaking too of his aspiration for Jordan to benefit from Morocco’s parliamentary experience, Al Fayez complimented Morocco’s “historical” record in the field.
The Jordanian official noted that his discussions with Nasser Bourita also provided an opportunity to reflect on the Palestinian cause and “the need to take vigorous steps to ensure the rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to an independent state.”
