Fez – Younes El Hannach, a 17-year-old Moroccan central defender, has signed his first professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
“Younes El Hannach is now linked at the capital club until June 30, 2025”, confirmed the Parisian club (PSG) on their website on April 12, 2022.
Following the signing of his contract, the French capital club congratulated Younes on his first professional contract and wished him much success.
To find footing among other players in the football scene, El Hannach began his career with AS Carrières Gresillons. At the age of eight years old, the young footballer from Poissy, in the Île-de-France region, transferred to Paris Saint-Germain.
In the 2017-18 season, El Hannach joined the club’s pre-development center, and in 2019, he joined the academy. He quickly earned his place in the team by being an integral player of Zoumana Camara’s U19-team in both the league and the Youth League.
El Hannach was able to achieve several sporting feats such as making eight starts in the UEFA Youth League and ensuring his team is sitting top of the U19 Championnat National’s Group A table. His hard work and dedication paid off since he emerged as a sturdy central defender by reaching the Youth League quarterfinals before his team was eliminated by Salzburg.
The Moroccan center-back became a key member of the PSG team after he on occasion trained for Mauricio Pochettino, the former player who is currently the head coach of Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain.

Still, the question remained whether the Moroccan wonderkid would sign a first-team contract with PSG, or look elsewhere for his first professional contract.
Critics have described one of PSG’s major flaws in recent years as their inability to instill confidence in their young teams and thus encourage them to stay at the club. Because the Moroccan center-back received offers from several big European clubs, some believed that he would leave the capital club. The youthful prospect however contradicted the rumors and dispelled concerns by signing a three-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Football runs in El Hannach family’s blood, because his two brothers, Idriss and Naoufel, also play for Les Rouge et Bleu, featuring in the club’s U17 and U16 teams respectively.
