Rabat – Morocco assistant coach Joao Sacramento has urged the Atlas Lions to turn their full attention to the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting that the team’s dream remains very much alive.
In a message shared on his official Instagram account, Sacramento praised the players for their efforts during the group stage while emphasizing that the team’s journey is far from over.
“We move on. The group stage is now behind us. Thank you to these incredible players who make us all proud. The dream is still alive. It’s time for the next stage,” Sacramento wrote.
His message comes after Morocco secured qualification for the Round of 32, finishing second in Group C with seven points. The Atlas Lions advanced on goal difference behind Brazil and now prepare for a highly anticipated knockout clash against the Netherlands.
The coaching staff has already shifted its focus to Tuesday’s encounter, with Morocco aiming to continue its impressive World Cup campaign and secure a place in the Round of 16.
The Round of 32 match between Morocco and the Netherlands will be played on Tuesday at Estadio Monterrey in Guadalupe, Mexico, with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 a.m. (GMT+1).
