Rabat – France-based news organization Euronews Arabic used an undivided map of Morocco, during its coverage of the diesel ship that sank near the Tunisian coast.
The news channel’s use of the map follows in the footsteps of various governmental and private organizations all over the world.
The use of the map indicates a new European position on the Sahara dispute, after Spain recently supported Morocco’s autonomy plan for the region.
French news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) recently used the full map in its coverage of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Spain expressed support for Morocco’s autonomy plan at the end of March, putting an end to a year-long diplomatic conflict and potentially triggering a domino effect of European countries taking Morocco’s side in the dispute, according to experts.
Before this, several federal agencies from the US also used the full map, including the CIA, CDC, and State Department.
