Rabat – 4PX, a Chinese logistics firm has struck a partnership deal with Africa’s leading e-commerce platform Jumia, to expand their joint pool of customers on the African continent.

Jumia already has some presence in Africa. The Nigerian company holds more than 3,000 drop-off and pick-up stations across 11 countries in Africa.

Under the new partnership, the two logistics companies plan to start operations in Nigeria before expanding to Kenya, Egypt, and Morocco in a few months, according to a company press release published on April 26.

“Our collaboration with Jumia enables 4PX to strengthen our global network and enrich our service offerings,” Derek Wang, 4PX Global cross-border E-commerce Product Director said in a statement.

To the official, the alliance between the two operators will solidify 4PX’s “brand image as one of the world’s strongest global logistic companies.”

“Joining forces with 4PX further solidifies Jumia’s position as the partner of choice for last-mile delivery in Africa,” Apoorva Kumar from Jumia said.

“We are proud to open up our technology and services to 4PX and provide Chinese businesses with new opportunities to grow and access the African market,” Kumar added.

Jumia harnesses its logistics infrastructure, physical assets, technology, and extensive network of partners to provide seamless last-mile delivery services across its countries of operation, he explained.

About 4PX

4PX ranks as the third-largest cross-border e-commerce market. The Chinese firm handles over 8 million parcels every day.

In 2016, the group locked an investment from the world’s largest online wholesale operator Alibaba Group.

The Chinese logistics company has more than 10,000 employees and 100 facilities across the globe. The company has worked with more than one million e-commerce sellers.

In 2021, 4PX’s Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) reached $1.95 billion.
