Rabat – The National Highway Company in Morocco (ADM) provided recommendations for its users to follow on Eid Al Fitr in a press release on Thursday.
The ADM wished a happy Eid Al Fitr to all its users and notified them that the highway network will see significant traffic on two days due to everyone traveling to see their families.
The traffic is expected to be on Friday, April 29, from 3:00PM till 10:00PM and Tuesday, May 3, from 4:00PM till 10:00 PM.
The ADM’s recommendations include instructions for the highway users, such as to organize their transportation prior to departure and to inquire about the current traffic situation by downloading the ADM Traffic application.
The ADM also instructed its users to be extra cautious when driving through dense fog or rain, and to slow down and respect the safety distance while activating the vehicle’s necessary lights, even in daylight.
The ADM also gave recommendations such as taking a break after every two hours of driving and inspecting the car wheels.
According to Morocco’s National Road Safety Agency (NARSA), Morocco records an average of 3,600 fatalities and 150,000 injuries on national roads each year from accidents, as well as more than MAD 20 billion ($2.16 billion) in material losses from road accidents.

Morocco currently has a toll-free expressway network of 1,334 kilometers, with an additional 739 kilometers under construction. While expressways are not as large as controlled-access highways, they are known for being smooth and safe for drivers.
The Tiznit-Laayoune toll-free expressway is one of the most significant ongoing projects. The 550-kilometer road will connect Tiznit, about 100 kilometers south of Agadir, with Laayoune in southern Morocco.
