The weather alert also forecasts rainfall between 20 and 25 millimeters in the cities of Sale, Kenitra, and Rabat on Tuesday from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Downpours from 20 to 35 millimeters will hit the cities of Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taourirt, Taza, Boulemane, Meknes, El Hajeb, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, and Khemissetn from 12 a.m. to 9 p.m.
DMN also announced that several other provinces witnessed rainfall from Saturday morning until Sunday, including the provinces of Oujda, Bouarfa, Nador, Al Hoceima, Kenitra, Taourirt, and Ben Slimane.
Morocco witnessed significant rainfall in the months of March and April, with the downpours contributing to reviving the country’s agriculture sector which has been witnessing a lack of rainfall and months of drought. The recent wave of heavy rainfall also helped refresh the water reserves of Morocco’s dams.
The Moroccan government has expressed satisfaction with the recent rainfall, saying it will help the agriculture season that still faces a productivity crisis.
