The Kickboxing World Cup was held between May 12 and 15 in Istanbul. More than 3,000 athletes from 43 countries gathered in the Turkish capital to participate in the event.

The Moroccan Royal Federation of Kickboxing applauded the performance of the Moroccan athletes on Sunday, adding that “this achieved result is considered very important in view of the record number of participants in this international sports competition.”

The federation added that the participation of Moroccan athletes in such an international event will help them prepare for the Islamic Solidarity Games that will be hosted in Konya, Turkey, from August 9 to 18, 2022.

Morocco boasts numerous kickboxing champions including renowned 13-year-old Amira Tahri,  24-year-old Tyjani Beztati (the wonderboy), and  37-year-old Badr Hari.
