Rabat – The Euromed Institute of Law and Political Sciences (IEMSJP) has appointed to its board the President and founder of the Bouabate Fes Association Leila Bennis.

Bennis is known in Morocco for having founded the “Bouabate Fes Association” in October 2010 to honor and pay tribute to influential and pioneering Moroccan women who have reached high ranks in many fields.

The association organizes various cultural and educational activities, mainly dedicated to women, including two major events per year. The first event takes place on March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, while the second is held on National Women’s day, on October 10.

Last March, “Bouabate Fes” – meaning “the gate of Fes” in Arabic – organized an event on the occasion of Women’s International Day, honoring several successful men and women from the fields of education, justice, industry, and entrepreneurship.

President of Euromed University of Fes Mostapha Bousmina sent a letter to Bennis confirming her designation as a member of the board of the IEMSJP. “It is my pleasure to confirm your designation as a member of the board,” he wrote, adding “I have no doubt that your contribution to the development of the institute and its growth will be most appreciated.”

The board governs and encompasses many duties and responsibilities, including ensuring the smooth running of the institute and contributing to the development, implementation, and enhancement of the Institutes’ strategies.

The board also prepares budget proposals and determines budgeting for different structures of the institute. Improving the management of the establishment and organizing cultural and sporting activities also fall under the responsibility of the board.

Each faculty, school, and institute belonging to the Euromed University of Fes (UEMF) has a board composed of 17 members, including the president and vice-president of the institute, five professors from the institute, two students representing the institute’s student body, as well as the secretary-general of the institute.

The Euromed University of Fez (UEMF) and the University of Paris Pantheon-Sorbonne jointly established the Euromed Institute of Law and Political Sciences with the aims to train “high-level executives capable of supporting major projects and development projects .. in the fields of law, political science, and international relations.”
