Rabat – Luxury fashion brands Fendi and Versace have featured Imaan Hammam, a dutch supermodel with Moroccan-Egyptian heritage, in their latest collaboration “Fendace”.

The two luxury giants announced their joined collection during the Milan Fashion Week in September 2021. The new Fendace collection, featuring jewelry, handbags, and sneakers for both men and women, is set to release on May 12, 2022.

The campaign includes other famous supermodels, such as Poland’s Anja Rubik, Anok Yai and Adut Akech from Sudan, and Lina Zhang from China.

Fendi and Versace have recently released the “Fendace” advertising campaign, shot by prominent photographer Steven Meisel and famous filmmaker Alec Maxwell.

Pictures of the campaign, on both Fendi and Versace’s official social media pages, websites, and advertising billboards, featured the Moroccan model showcasing pieces with distinctive designs from the new collection.

Hammam is proud of her Moroccan heritage and seizes every opportunity to praise it. In her Bazaar cover story, the Moroccan supermodel said: “I have a couple of necklaces from my grandmother who passed away, and wearing them reminds me of her. One of her necklaces stands for power and freedom. And I think especially being a woman in the ’70s in Morocco, it was not easy.”

Fendace “is a swap rather than a collaboration and, most of all, it is done out of friendship,” Fendi said in a statement.

“The campaign captures the same sense of friendship and energy we had when we were designing the collection. Kim is a visionary designer and innovator. To me, Fendace will always mean love,” said Donatella Versace, the founder of Versace.

The 25-year-old international model landed the most international Vogue covers of any in 2017. A year later, she made 18 appearances on the cover of the American fashion magazine Vogue.
