Rabat – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) signed on Tuesday a code-share agreement with Emirates, increasing the travel possibilities and choice of connections for the two companies’ clients.

The two airlines will start offering their customers flights operated by both carriers between Dubai and Casablanca starting from the end of May, with a combined total of 209 destinations on offer.

“[The partnership] will offer our passengers a large set of destinations as well as a better customer experience thanks to optimized connections and end-to-end check-in, with international airport assistance within both airlines networks,” said Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc.

From a passenger point of view, the partnership will offer new hubs and more ways to connect travel between the two carriers’ networks.

Emirates customers will now have access to 17 destinations in Morocco other than Casablanca, and 63 additional worldwide destinations in RAM’s network, including destinations throughout Africa.

On the other hand, travelers with RAM will now be able to visit 130 destinations beyond Dubai by accessing Emirates’ network.

The new partnership comes as Emirates celebrates 20 years of servicing Casablanca, and currently operates eight weekly flights from Dubai the Moroccan city.

Royal Air Maroc will also be operating flights between Casablanca and Dubai, at a frequency of four flights per week.

“Since 2002, Emirates has carried over 3.4 million passengers between Dubai and Casablanca, supporting the country’s tourism industry, growing trade lanes, and bringing Moroccan culture and traditions to the world,” an official release from Emirates said.

The agreement serves to complement the two airlines’ networks, giving Emirates access to destinations across Africa, while RAM benefits from the Emirati carrier’s extensive Middle East, United States, and Asia networks.
