Rabat – Local security services reported a new shooting in South Street, Philadelphia on the night of  Saturday, June 4, with police reporting three deaths and a dozen injuries.

Authorities in the city said the shooting took place before midnight on Saturday.

On Sunday, police said that they saw several shooters firing into a crowd, and ABVC later reported that at least two guns were recovered from the crime scene.

Fatalities included two men and a woman.

The US has been experiencing a series of mass shootings recently, sparking more outrage among progressive activists and ordinary citizens who are increasingly demanding more restrictions on gun ownership.

Earlier this week, an armed man killed four people and injured several others during a shooting at a Tusla medical building in Oklahoma.

On May 14, a racist shooting claimed the lives of at least 10 people, while  three people were left injured in Buffalo, in New York.

Data from Pew Research Center indicate that 53% of Americans believe the US needs to put further restrictions on gun ownership.

While 32% of people say that gun laws are about “right,” a minority estimated at 14% believes that gun laws “should be less strict.”

Concerningly, ABC reported, the Pew data showed that the “share of Americans who favor stricter gun laws has declined since September 2019.”

The recent spike in mass shootings has once again laid bare the widening divide between the Left and Right in the US’ deeply fractured political landscape.

But more worrying than the usual voices of gun lobby-financed Republican politicians and Second Amendment-driven media figures is the growing cohort of conspiracy theorists.

In the past few days, these increasingly prominent voices on the New Right have taken the outrageous view that all the horrific mass shootings talked about in the media are fake and orchestrated by progressives to change gun laws.
