Rabat – The UAE-based freight and logistics chain Emirates Logistics today inaugurated its second site in Morocco’s Tangier Automotive City.
The new logistics center in the Tanger Med industrial platform specializes in logistical services for ready-made products, raw materials and spare parts for industrial companies.
During the inauguration ceremony, Emirati Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri stressed that the logistical center reflects the depth of relations that unite his country and Morocco.
The Emirati official also spoke about the economic importance of the new site, reiterating both countries’ desire to further boost economic cooperation and benefit from their respective experiences in several sectors, including transport and logistics.
Emirati investments in Morocco have seen a significant boost in recent years, Al Marri highlighted. He affirmed that the kingdom has become an attractive destination for foreign investment, especially the northern region. He attributed the development to Morocco’s geographical location that operates as a gate between Africa and Europe.
The center covers an area of 14,500 m2 with a workforce of 100 people working in teams that keep the facility operating 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.

It has a storage capacity of 15,000 pallets, with a secure mezzanine for the management of 10,000 boxes of electronic parts and 14 docks allowing the in and out flow of 80 trucks per day.
Established in Morocco in 2016, the Emirates Logistics Corporation – a branch of the Emirates International Group Sharaf – employs more than 350 people, manages 47,600 m2 of storage spread over 5 logistics centers and operates a fleet of 32 trucks.
The group’s management stressed that this new site enhances the company’s position in Morocco and Africa, describing the firm as one of the pioneers in providing logistics services, relying on modern and advanced infrastructure and equipment, as well as innovative and technological systems and procedures.
Tangier Med’s Managing Director Mehdi Tazi Riffi emphasized that the giant international company has benefited from the appropriate conditions that Morocco is keen to provide to investors in the logistical and industrial fields in particular.
Riffi pointed out that investment flows into the Tangier-Mediterranean region have grown tremendously, a step that will likely have a noticeable impact on Morocco’s economy.
Meanwhile, Morocco’s Minister of Transport and Logistics Mohammed Abdeljalil considers that the Emirati investment project not only enhances the logistical supply in northern Morocco, but also enables the creation of new job opportunities, supporting economic competitiveness and Moroccan exports.
