Laayoune – The National School of Applied Sciences of Al-Hoceima (ENSAH) is currently hosting the 2022 Hult Prize, representing Morocco on an international scale.
ENSAH started hosting the second edition of the Hult Prize competition in February. Since then, students have undergone different elimination rounds in order to promote their innovations, in order to reach the global finals that will be held in New York in September.
The Hult Prize foundation offers a MAD 10 million ($1 million) prize to students in an effort to encourage them to become “future change-makers.”
The way that the Hult Prize works is that each participating school hosts an “on-campus” program from December 2021 until March 2022. During the on-campus program, which is the first stage out of four elimination rounds, students are expected to cultivate and promote their innovations.
ENSAH had set up a variety of student gatherings and public events earlier this year in order to draw as many students as possible to the on-campus program. Some staff members were tasked with defining the Hult Prize’s objective and this year’s challenge, while other members worked to sign up new participants.
The second phase of the Hult Prize consisted of “regional summits”, which ran from April until May. During this phase, students competed on a regional level with other candidates from North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
The third stage is “the Global Accelerator.” This phase started in June and will continue until August. During this stage, students who qualified are expected to compete against other international students who passed their regional summits as well.
During an award ceremony in Nairobi, which took place from July 1st to July 3rd, the ENSAH’s Hult Prize campus program was selected by a committee of 13 judges as one of the top 6 programs in the region of North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. The Nairobi award ceremony was held to declare the best schools that are currently hosting the Hult Prize.
To announce the winning students of the Hult Prize, “Global Finals” are scheduled in New York in September this year, with delegates of the Hult Prize Committee, ENSAH, and former US President Bill Clinton attending the event.

Clinton is expected to appear because the finals will be organized by the “Clinton global initiative,” with several global businessmen and members of ENSAH as VIP guests
