Several provinces across Morocco are set to experience scorching temperatures as part of a heatwave that will start from Wednesday to Saturday.
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DMN) said on Monday that temperatures will range between 38 and 45 degrees Celsius during the upcoming heatwave.
The provinces of Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Aousserd, and Oued Ed-dahab will experience a rise in temperatures ranging between 42 and 45 degrees from Wednesday to Saturday.
Temperatures of 39 and 44 degrees will be witnessed in the provinces of Ouezzane, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fez, El Hajeb, Meknes, Sefrou, Sidi Slimane, Khemisset, Sidi Kacem, and Beni Mellal from Thursday to Saturday.
Similar temperatures will hit the provinces of Khenifra, Khouribga, Fkih Ben Saleh, Settat, Youssoufia, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Essaouira, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Rhamna, and Taroudant.
The provinces of Larache, Kenitra, Berrechid, Benslimane Sidi Bennour, Errachidia, Zagora and Agadir Ida-Outanane will also experience the same heatwave, with temperatures ranging between 38 and 43 degrees on Friday and Saturday.
Inezgane, Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Chtouka Ait Baha,Guelmim, El Jadida, Safi, Boujdour, Tantan, Sidi Ifni and the interior of the provinces of Sale-Skhirat-Temara and Nouaceur will experience the heatwave.
The high temperatures will come prior to the Islamic festival of Eid Al Adha (the Feast of Sacrifice), which Morocco will celebrate on Sunday, July 10.
