Rabat – The draw for the Under 17 Arab Cup has placed the Moroccan national team in group C alongside Iraq, Comoros, and Mauritania.

The draw for the juniors championship took place on Sunday, July 31, in the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City in Abha, Saudi Arabia.

The regional competition will take place in Algeria from August 23 to September 8, and sixteen Arab national teams will participate in the youth tournament.

Sunday’s draw placed the teams into four groups, with the host country Algeria taking part in Group A alongside Palestine, Sudan, and the UAE.

The Carthage Eagles, Tunisia’s national team, will compete with neighboring Libya as well as Oman and Yemen in Group B.

As for the Egyptian Pharaohs, they will face Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Lebanon in the first round of elimination in Group D.

Co-organized by the Arab Football Association, the regional tournament is the third Arab Youth Cup for this year, following the Arab Futsal Cup and U-20 Arab Cup.

The U-20 regional contest is currently taking place in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The tournament’s final will be played on August 6.

Morocco’s U-20 national team qualified for the quarter-finals, where they lost 2-0 to the Egyptian team on Friday.
