Rabat – The FIFA World Cup trophy tour will stop in Casablanca on September 10-11, according to Coca-Cola Maroc.

While Coca-Cola did not provide details on the event, some media reports have said that the trophy will be displayed at Anfa Park, Casablanca, starting from 6:30 p.m.

To celebrate the historic event, the American multinational, also the tour’s co-organizer, has launched an online contest, offering three free tickets for each of the lucky winners.

The list of the winners will be announced on the company’s social media accounts on September 7. The lucky fans will see the 6.142 kilograms trophy, which was designed in 1974 out of solid gold.

This year, the FIFA World Cup trophy tour will stop in 51 countries and territories including all of the 32 countries that qualified for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The three-month tour started in August and is expected to conclude in November prior to the kickoff of the most anticipated event in world football.

It is the first time that the trophy arrives in all qualified countries, bringing FIFA closer to its goal of displaying the trophy in all of its 211 member associations by 2030.

With only 76 days left until the cup, “Coca-Cola is thrilled to offer fans the opportunity to experience the trophy ahead of the tournament. The real magic of the FIFA World Cup exists with fans believing in their teams and showcasing their passion for the game,” said Brad Ross, Coca-Cola’s Vice‑President of Global Sports & Entertainment Marketing and Partnerships.

Highlighting the symbolism of the world cup trophy, Romy Gai, FIFA’s Chief Business Officer said: “Bringing it on tour gives us a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the fantastic communities around the world who love the beautiful game.”

In addition to bringing joy and excitement to global football fans through the trophy tour, FIFA recently launched the “Spotlight: Your Dreams” campaign to celebrate the works of football fans interested in the arts. The online contest, which started on August 23, will select the 16 most inspirational art pieces before letting global fans choose the winner(s).
