Rabat – Iconic Moroccan actor Norueddine Bikr died on Friday after suffering from a long-term illness.
Moroccan actor Abderrahim Ghazouani announced the news on his Facebook page, extending his condolences to Bikr’s family.
Born in 1952 in Casablanca, Bikr was part of the top echelon of Moroccan actors and comedians.
Known for his sense of humor, the actor began his artistic career in the 1990s and starred in several different artforms, including theater and television series.
Some of his best-known theater performances among Moroccans are “Shreh Melh” and “Heb o Tben.”
A number of renowned actors have passed away recently including Abdellatif Hilal who died in January in Casablanca.
In April, Moroccans mourned the death of actress Rachida El Harrak, who died at 74 following a long battle against cancer.
Several other celebrities died last year, including iconic actor Aziz El Fadili and the sweetheart of Morocco’s television, Fatima Regragui.
