Rabat- The College of Engineering and Architecture of the International University of Rabat (UIR) organized a job fair for students to meet employers, learn about their expectations, their sectors of activity and expand their networks on Thursday October 27, in Rabat.
The job fair aims to create an instructive and networking sphere for Morocco’s College of Engineering and Architecture students including young graduates, fresh graduates, and students looking for internships.
The E&A Job Fair hosted more than 20 participating companies including CIH Bank, Webhelp Morocco, Linked 4HR, Yazaki, Capgemini, CGI, Safran, Thales, and Dell.
Speaking on the sidelines of the E&A job fair, panel members provided guidance to students looking for jobs and internships.
An important event
“The job fair is very important for students,” Managing Director of Linked 4HR Alain Jiongo told Morocco World News. “It’s an opportunity for them to be interviewed by several companies, to understand what the market has to offer and to be sure that they are an adequate employee for their prospective employer.’’
Emphasizing the importance of the event, HR consultant Aimane Cherragui told MWN: “It is a very important event because students have the chance to ask serious questions – how to create their resumes, how to succeed in their negotiation skills about their salary.’’
“[Students] get valuable tips and know the things they need to avoid in order to enhance their employability,” he went on.
“It’s important that these events happen inside universities and schools because it’s a learning opportunity,” Cherragui stressed. “We also have companies who can offer internships for students and where students can also conduct interviews.”

Jiongo advised students to hone their “competencies, behaviors, exposure, experience, personal brand, and network.’’
Echoing Jiongo’s statement, General Director of Label HR Abdellah Chenguiti emphasized the importance of “a good first impression,” saying that the first minutes of the interview determine its outcome, and that students must therefore work on their presentation skills and not recite their resumes.
Chenguiti also highlighted the importance of English as a key to succeed in business and with multinational companies, stressing that the language is the first one spoken in the world of business.
Speaking to MWN, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Teal Technology Services Kawtar Latifi, advised young graduates and interns to focus on their soft skills stressing that they always come first before the technical skills.
“I think that students need to participate in job fairs because it helps them gain experience with interviews,” she added. “They also get to connect with recruiters and talent acquisition specialists and get to know today’s market and demanded skills.’’
