Rabat – Amine, a French-Moroccan 24 year-old, is planning to walk from Bordeaux to Tangier on foot to support an orphanage in Beni Mellal, French newspaper Sud Ouest reported.

Having begun his journey on October 3, the young man was reportedly seen on Saturday in the city center of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, a town located on the Basque Coast, not far from the Spanish border.

Amine has embarked on his journey in the hope of supporting an orphanage in Beni Mellal in collaboration with the non-profit organization Kafala.

Kafala is a non-profit association established in France to help abandoned children and orphans in Morocco. The organization is dedicated to helping orphanages by donating clothing and financial contributions.

Amine reiterated his will to reach Morocco, no matter how many days it takes. He believes he will arrive in fifty days. ‘’If it’s more, it’s more, the most important thing is to get to the end, ‘’ he told Sud Ouest.

Amine is using Instagram to share his journey with his followers. He frequently posts videos and pictures detailing his trek.

In a video on his Instagram, he urged people to donate to the Beni Mellal orphanage, saying he chose the city because it’s the birthplace of his father and grandmother, emphasizing that the orphanage has hundreds of kids in need of help and support.

A fund to support Amine has been created on the cotizup platform, which can be found on his Instagram account..

With 54 donors, the fund has currently raised €1229 (13,000 MAD) out of €10000 (107,000 MAD).
