Rabat: Morocco and Saudi Arabia recently signed a bilateral agreement on September 28 to boost air travel and develop their aviation sectors.

Morocco’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohammed Abdeljalil met his Saudi counterpart, Saleh Al-Jasser on the sidelines of the 41st session of the Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) held in Montreal, said the Ministry of Transport and Logistics in a press release released on Thursday.

Morocco’s Ambassador to Canada Souriya Otmani was also present at the meeting.

The press release claims the agreement will boost the two nations’ bilateral cooperation. It focused on the loosening of government control on the number of flights and their passenger capacities for designated air carriers.

The agreement also contains regulatory provisions relating to safety and aviation security, and outlines the process of commercial cooperation agreements between the two countries’ respective airlines.

Morocco and Saudi Arabia are actively cooperating to strengthen bilateral relations. The two countries have recently signed two partnership agreements to boost trade and cooperation and aim to increase the volume of trade to $5 billion dollars in the next 5 years.
